Donna De Carolis, PhD, is the founding Dean of the Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship at Drexel University, the first freestanding school of entrepreneurship in the nation to offer degrees. Donna designs and delivers seminars on innovation, strategic thinking, corporate entrepreneurship and technology commercialization. Her recent accomplishments at the University have significantly contributed to advancing Drexel University’s ranking as a top entrepreneurship university by Princeton Review. Prior to her role as founding Dean, Donna held the position of Associate Vice Provost for Entrepreneurship Education at Drexel University and served as the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs at the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University. Donna is also an active member of the Alliance for Women Entrepreneurs, the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. She serves on the on the advisory board of several startup companies and is a member of the Union League of Philadelphia.
Dino Ramos oversees implementation of such programs as the Bringing the World to Pennsylvania, implementing the Greater Philadelphia Export Plan, the Export Finance Initiative, and the International Design and Engineering Consortium. Dino has over 35 years of experience in international trade management. As Export Sales Manager for the Hunt Corporation, Dino was responsible for sales and marketing in over 50 countries. His long tenure at Hunt included managing export sales, export sales forecasting, international sales and operational planning, export administration, international marketing, and marketing services. Prior to Hunt, Dino spent five years working in Singapore as Far East Sales Manager for King Press and another five-year stint in Vietnam and Thailand for the U.S. Government Accountability Office. Dino holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from East Tennessee State University and attended George Washington University Graduate School of Business. He is familiar with Greek and French and has some understanding of Chinese, Arabic, Thai, and Vietnamese.
Democratic candidate for city controller & former chief administrative officer, city of philadelphia
Prior to stepping down to run for City Controller, Rebecca served as the Chief Administrative Officer under Mayor Kenney. The Chief Administrative Officer is a cabinet-level position reporting to the Mayor in charge of modernizing key areas of city government. In this role, Rhynhart was responsible for supervising eleven city departments and functions with close to 1000 employees. Her highest-profile accomplishment was modernizing city purchasing practices both to save money and to include more local and minority businesses, which are vital to the Philadelphia economy.
Prior to that, Rebecca served as City Treasurer and Budget Director under Mayor Nutter. Before joining the City in 2008, Rebecca worked in municipal finance and as a credit analyst. Rebecca received her Masters of Public Administration from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College.
Dean Mahmoud co-founded Argyle Interactive in 2013 while studying business at Drexel University. Mahmoud bootstrapped Argyle with no capital or investor. Within three years, Argyle grew from a two-man team in a shared-space to a squad of over a dozen creative specialists in a dedicated Center City office. He leads a team of millennial professionals and works with an array of clients in various industries. Dean specializes in thinking entrepreneurially to match organizations' needs and reach their goals with unique marketing solutions.
Brooke Thomas is a news anchor, reporter and host-- most recently a weekday morning anchor for Philadelphia's CBS3. Thomas is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication and comes to Philadelphia from Dallas, where she was co-host of Tribune Television’s live syndicated morning show, “Eye Opener”. She's lived all over including Memphis, Los Angeles, Devils Lake, ND and Atlanta.
